One repo broke six times with six different errors. What found the cause was looking at all six together.
The repo broke with a different error every time. The first five times I suspected the disk, the antivirus, and the git version in turn; each fix held for a few days.
Then I put all six into one table — time, the command I had run, the error — and saw that every one involved a deletion: the sandbox had turned deletes into moves to the Recycle Bin. The full story is in “WorkBuddy Will Corrupt Your Git”.
